The short version: their stories belong to your family, not to us.
We keep the things needed to make the book: interview transcripts, chapter drafts, contributor interviews, the names and emails of the people you invite, and your order details. This is the material your family reviews and approves before anything is printed.
Transcripts and drafts are visible only to the people the purchaser and the storyteller choose. A story becomes public only if the storyteller — the subject of the book, not just the purchaser — explicitly approves it.
Payments are processed by Stripe. Your card number never touches our servers. We keep only the order record — what was purchased, when, and the email it belongs to — so we can deliver the book and honor your purchase.
We send transactional email only: purchase confirmations, gift deliveries, sign-in links, and invitations you ask us to send. We don't run marketing lists, and we never sell or share your family's information with anyone.
We use AI to conduct interviews and to help organize spoken memories into chapters. Transcript text is processed by our AI providers under agreements that prohibit them from training their models on it. The words in the finished book are the storyteller's own — reviewed, corrected, and approved by your family.
You can ask us to export or permanently delete a book and its transcripts at any time by replying to any email we've sent you. Deletion is complete and irreversible — we'd rather you own that choice than lock your family's memories behind us.
